All told, the update fixes 21 separate problems that should make for a smoother, less buggy experience for a game that didn’t have many bugs when it first hit Steam and Xbox Game Pass. A few “UE4 Fatal Error” bugs have been fixed, along with a fix for a couple of issues that prevented players from progressing the story after a specific set of actions were taken. The update also includes fixes for technical issues players have been experiencing in the game. The official Hi-Fi Rush Twitter account also promised to soon launch a photo contest, giving fans the chance to possibly win prizes for snapping the best pictures with the new Photo Mode. The photos can then be edited with filters, camera effects, and frames at the player’s discretion, which players have been demanding since Hi-Fi Rush shadow dropped after an Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct showcase. The new mode will allow players to pause the game in the middle of the action to pose Chai and his four buddies however they see fit. Being a rhythm-based action beat ’em up, Chai whacks away at enemies with a guitar along to the beat of the Hi-Fi Rush's killer soundtrack and the physical world that pulsates along with the music.

Along the way, Chai is joined by new team members who aid him in battle. Hi-Fi Rush lets players control Chai, a kid with dreams of becoming a rock star in a wild sci-fi future overrun by an evil corporation with a legion of robot goons at its disposal. It quickly gained a passionate word-of-mouth following, exemplified by its 10/10 rating on Steam and its score of 89 on Metacritic. Hi-Fi Rush was surprise-released in January by Bethesda and developer Tango Gameworks with no prerelease marketing ramp-up.
